What do you think about this? It seems really high to me.

You could probably get all those parts cheaper from someplace else or on eBay and I would do the work myself or find some mechanic you trust to do it instead of the dealership. Doing all of that, you'll probably save yourself over $1000.

I like how all the prices are nice round whole dollar figures

I gonna have to check out e-bay. I also seen big bore kits on hot cams website with everything in that estimate minus the head for $2500

The price on the head seems kinda high, but the valves are close to retail. One question though: Why is there 6 valves listed?

They're tryin to rip you a new one bro, a new head on dgy.com is 475, then 65 for each intake valve and 78 for each exhaust valve, crankshaft is 285, etc.

And what did they say? Obviously you shouldn't be letting them work on it...who knows what else they are throwing in there that you don't need. Just buy the parts you need to do the rebuild and save the money you'd fork out for the high prices and labor. Btw, what happened that you need all this??

This shop seems to be a good shop. I've had people who I like and dislike refer me to them both with good results. There is no question that they are high in prices. Thats why I posted the estimate. The reason that I need all this work is that I got fu--ed by another shop on a engine job. I started a thread with " Bad Service" if you want to know the hole story. Thanks ken

I would get those parts from Bob@MagnoliaTractorInc and just do the labor yourself. ALOT cheaper.

You can get your stock cylinder bored and re plated to a true 450 for less than 250. Then you can use an aftermarket hi-comp piston instead of a stocker. Also, they didn't have any gaskets in that quote??

Bob is the man. I called him and got a wr kit for my bike. Everything came verywell packaged and very fast. Now all I need now is a new head and some valves. Thank god I did my taxes today and will be buying that stuff from him when the money shows up.

I would look at getting the parts somewhere else, and if you are like me and dont like digging into the motor, find a race shop, not a dealer and they will prolly cut you a pretty good break on the putting it together. I found a shop to put my wr kit in for half your price. Good luck
