my friend put it in his recon and killed the rings in it

How did it kill the rings? I have never heard of anyone using it, but I just figured that is because it was a waste of money.

i use the klotz stuff from time to time, cleans out the carb....doubles as a fuel stabilizer i beleive...and i cant remember but perhaps a dry gas too

he may have added it wrong but whenever we put it in it smoked a whole lot and a few riding hours later the engine blew

i think the main deal with it is u dont want to use a $h!t ton of it cuz then ur engine gets too hot and then thats when it gets messed up

i dont see why it would cause it to run hotter, all the octane rating is is the fuel's resistance to detonation. though it could run hotter because of whatever the octane booster is made of. i doubt it though. you can use small amounts of tolulene to increase the octane rating, get on google to find the calculation for how much tolulene to how much gasoline.
