I am having trouble with applying the correct thickness to parts.Recently I have been shooting polished billet aluminum parts for practice and noticed that you have to lower the K.V and dusting the substrate with powder so there will not be a picture frame effect or sags, now is this also the way I should spray all the time.

Basically to make my question simple, is just dusting the part enough not to see the substrates surface the correct way to apply powder. Also is using glass beads the best for powder coating since it creates a real smooth surface unlike slag.:ermm:

Where in NY is Ozone park? I haven't heard of it before, I'm just north of Utica. Sorry for gettin off topic.

The city, Queens NY. I tired rounding off the edges and lowerd the K.V down to 20, worked perfect thank again for that link.
