I just got my engine complete and in the quad, when I went to break it in it sometimes over-idles. It will be idling fine and every so often when I blip the throttle it holds and revs. Common sense tells me it is trash in the carb. What is the best way to clean the carb, if that is the problem. I only ask because reinstalling the carb after removal is a beast in 20 degree weather(the boots don't flex at all). Does the carb need to come completely out or just the slide. Thanks for any help.

Did you do a leak down test on the engine after assembly? Its possible you have an air leak somewhere.

Something else to check, the throttle cable may not be ran properly. Also lube it.Everytime I take the cap of my carb,it takes a little fine tuning on the routing of the cable.
