ok so i ordered my dg slip on from the dealer when i bought it, well here i am a month and a week later it finally arrives and it doesnt fit. all the holes line up and everything but it seems that on the end of my header there is a bigger piece of pipe surrounding it so that the factory exhaust would fit. has anyone else had this problem or am i the only one? ok to make a long story short the factory header has a piece attached over it to make it thicker so that the factory slip on wont fall off, how do i get that piece off, its not welded just looks like its stuck onto it.i tried everything from beating it with a hammer to heating it and beating it with a hammer more and nothing. any ideas guys? and please if u dont know what im talking about dontreply i hate stupid replies because its hard enuff for me to check on this stuff. thanks guys

i havent removed the pipe on my 450r, but like my other hondas they use an asbestos/mesh gasket. it is like a slippery carbon feel to it. its easier to just replace it. i have reused one in a pinch, but that was when the bike was fairly new.

I think he is saying that the tail pipe won't fit over the header and if that is the case they may have sent you the slip on for there full system not the slip on for the factory header. If I were you I would give DG a call and talk to them about it.

I would get the head pipe to, its not that much more. Its a $cheap$ pipe. But I'm sure the quality and power is good.
