Is a resistor kit needed on a 04 yfz?

i took off my lights today and just taped up the ends of the connectors my friend told me that there is a resistor kit that you should have. Is it mandatory? and do hte wires plug right into it?

It depends! Does your YFZ run bad without the lights? If not then you don't need one.

i have my lights off now for over ayear and no problems whatsoever.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Better safe than stuck somewhere with a dead battery.
