ok i thinking on getting a 250x and it had 2+ a arms on it with stock shocks... and my bro has stock z400 shocks off a 03 would they work if i put them on the 250x?

No they will not fit. The z-400 shocks are much longer than the 300ex shocks. The only way the z-400 shocks MIGHT work is if the 300ex a arms were long travel. Your gonna want to look into a set of used front shocks. You can find a nice set of used works shocks valved for +2 a arms for 150-250 dollars.
