How do I get my 03 stock axle to look like new? Any neat easy techniques you can share would be great. Sandpaper / steel wool. What have you guys used to restore that factory look.
Steel wool and Simple Green;)

If you just use a cleaner and steel wool, it won't. But, I would imagine if you take like a steel grinder to it, it would rust...lol.

ok I wasn't sure if they used something like a clear coat to prevent rust..
they get some surface rust on them after a few rides, i take some dry wall sandpaper to mine and it s=hines like new until the next ride...

After cleaning it I'd suggest spray painting it with a clear coat, it'll keep it cleaner and stop any rust trying to form.
