Alright fellow EX fans. Help a new guy out. 2003 400EX. Which system would you use? LRD or HMF. Also, what jetting would you recommend for central US?

Awesome feedback. Thanks. Now what jetting would you recommend? Should I get the HMF power up kit? Is it worth it?

I'm with Pappy. I wasn't really that impressed with the HMF system. I switched to the LRD and gained a lot of what was missing.

i've had both lrd and hmf as well, and i choose hmf over lrd any day. the quality and craftsmanship on my lrd was crapola, the hmf bolts up nicely and firmly and there is great stability in it. sound doesnt' matter to me, i want performance, and hmf is where it is at...

you bought a well used LRD so comparing it to a new HMF really is not fair.

not to mention you beat the snot out of it for a season:p

both are good pipes, but my money would be sent to LRD simply because i liked the deeper sound and prefered the power delivery better.

i also ran a brand new full system after that one went kaput, in all honesty it's personal preference i still think the hmf has better craftsmanship, but i haven't got to beat it around to much yet...

I"ve read horry stories of getting LRD pipes mounted, burning up clutch cables, plastic, craftmanship, etc, etc.

I can say that HMF does more for the ATV community than LRD so that's a good reason to me.

I've had my new LRD for a while now and have beat the living **** out of it on the track. It has held up great and gives you alot of power where you need it. I would buy another one in a heart beat!! Get an LRD
