Auto-decomp

What are the advantages and disadvantages of auto decomp? Do I need it? Could I run a stage 2 intake cam and a stage 1 exhaust with auto decomp? Thanks for the replies.

auto decomp cams have a mechanism on them that partially opens the exhaust valve to ease starting.i have never heard of mixing cams but i dont see why not,each cam will operate its own set of valves.i would imagine your a yzf owner:)
