CRF450 question...

ok im thinkin about putting a 450 motor into a 400ex frame... just wondering on where is the best place to get this from and whats the best motor to use for this project? what about pricing?

You can look on eBay. There is usually a couple auctions for a CRF motor. If you don't find one on there, I think you can order one directly from servicehonda.com, but you will be paying a boatload.

Ya, like Walker054 said, contact Jody, at JB racing. he has several 450 motors and he did alot of conversions like your wanting to do. $ ask Jody. Good Luck. Had a CRF and wish I had never sold it.

All I can say is if you do decide to build it be prepared for alot of gussett work. Mine is fully gussetted and I still have cracks showing up, either be a good welder or have one nearby cause you will need it. Don't let it stop you though, the ride is unbelievable!!!!

Hey I just want to say buy the motor mounts and gussets from Jody! I sent him my frame and he did all the work to (knock on wood) nothing has happened yet

save the money and buy an aftermarket frame...you will be happy in the end...I have had two of them and have to say the 400ex/HyBrid was a lot of headache...the CR450 I got was 100% other then fab the exhaust

Obviously you haven't been on this site very much, because posting pictures like that is basically the only thing Jerry does on this site. So get used to it, everyone else has and some of us still find it funny...so either get a sense of humor or shut up. Jerry, got a picture for that?

As for the CRF450 eBay is usually a good place to look at for parts and an engine, or else contact JB racing.
