ok, if you take your rmps, divide that by your gearing ratio, divided by your final drive ratio does that give you speed?!

Almost but not quite.

Need to take you're:

rpm's / transmission gear reduction ratio x (front sproket teeth / rear sproket teeth) x (tire dia. x 3.14) x 60 minutes.

This will give you your MPH at the given RPM's in the gear you select.

Note: this dies not account for tire slippage or out of roundness of tire. Your actual MPH will probably be about 2-3% slower than the calculated speed.

That equations works if you do the unit conversions too....
5280 feet in a mile and 12 inches in a foot
