Do u think i'll need to re-jet the carb. i've bought exhaust pipes and not re-jetted the carb before but is it really necessary. because i'm tryin to save money.

if you dont rejet you are going to run the risk of over-heating your engine because it wont get enough fuel. Just buy like 4 jets starting with the size 3 over stock and then get the ones that follow.

certain places you buy from it should come with A jet....when i ordered mine it came with A jet. i also got a full system i dont know if they come with the slip-on

Couldnt i just re ajust the fuel and air mixture instead of re-jet the carb.

the air-fuel screw is only for the bottom end of your throatle. The main is for the 75-100% throatle.

You don't want the 2-3 stock above cause i have the same bike and for a slip on only i went from stock(which is like a 120ish...i think) to a 160 or 165. And that's just a slip on.

I saw a full system for a 450R for 300 in the used parts form, and if you have the money for a full system you should be able to scrape up 4 bucks for one new jet or you need to look for a new hobby, one that doesn't cost as much money. Power= $$$, handeling=$$$, gas=$$$ its that simple buddy

yea, jets are pretty inexpensive, it costs more to put fuel in it then a few jets would cost. if your going to mod, penny pinching is not the answer.

Dude! You're paying $400 for a pipe.. and you're worries about a $4 jet?

Yes, you need to rejet. ;)

If you order it form C&D just have them send the proper jets with the pipe. ;)

What gives you're atv power?
Gasoline

What's the purpose of adding air, if you're not going to give it the proper amount of gasoline to burn for more power?

Besides, running lean will destroy your motor.

You've got a good point. I jus wasn't sure cus all the jet kits that i found on the internet cost aroun 80$ but that was because it had the k&n air filter and other things with it.

Don't you have a Z400 and he has a 400ex?:huh

As stated before:

Pilot jet and air/fuel screw = 0 - 25% throttle

Needle jet and clip = 25 - 75 % throttle

Main jet = 75 - 100% throttle

Before doing any jetting, read the jetting "how to" in the articles section.

Full system doesn't add air....that would be the "air" box.

bwamos knows what he's talking about. What he means is that a full system creates better flow and with better flow you need more gas to achieve a perfect air to fuel ratio.

Go E-Bay. I did yesterday and saved approx 80.00$ over factory direct and got Free shipping. The factory is a rip off. They refuse to compete with e-bay. I tried.

E-Bay rules for quad parts. Always check it first!
