I bought a set of fog lights from Wal-Mart and was wondering if they would work on a quad.

The brand is Pro Burner, and there are two sets of 55 watt lights and they are ment for offroad trucks.

Do any of you guys or gals have these lighs on your quads? And if so how are they and was it hard to install? I'm thinking about mounting them onto the frame.

I think the directions are pointless bc there ment for a car or truck. Also the set comes with a switch and i was wondering if I could forget about using that switch and use the light switch that is meant for the normal head light.

give me some pointers on what i should do or look for.

thanxs for any help.

those might be too much wattage for your bike

i put these lights on my quad they work fine you have to wire them up carefully i used different fuses and relays so they wouldnt damage my quad. they were 20 bucks at wally world, do what u want to your quad that what makes it different.:)

Whats the wattage of those lights you have on your quad?

i think they r both 50w i have both wired into the high beam switch and one wired into the low beam. the dont draw any more power than the stock so they shouldnt do any damage just make sure u use fuses in between the lights and your switch just so to be safe.

One last question...

How do you like the light being wired the way they are? One high beam and one low beam?

It seem like that would be weird. I think I"ll wire my fog lights to high beam And my stock light to the low beam, if thats possible.

Or I might just take off the stock keadlight and run the fog lights. I can't wait to get them wired, they will look sick! I'll also save weight.

How long did it take you to assemble all of this?

And BTW I got this idea from your quad lol, that why i went to walmart I was looking for those kind but I found another one that I liked.

Also were the lights you got meant for a quad? The ones I got are meant for offroading trucks but I think they will be fine for a quad.

i have 2 for high beams and only 1 for the low beams. i wouldnt run the stock light with the fog lights. my suggestion would be to take it off. it took me about an hour or so.. i had to weld in mounts for the lights. i can take a closer pic tomorrow of what it looks like. my lights are fog lights for a car Blazer brand they r great, real bright yellow. i bought a pair for my g/f's car and for my 72 nova.

What does the switch look like and do you have any pic with the lights on?

i used the stock light switch i wired the new lights into the existing wires from the stock light. it just takes some trial and error to figure out which wires work. heres the both lights on..

it looks sweet its like a monster! lol, when you said trial and error isn't that kind dangerous bc you could fry the electrical system or something or is that another part of the wiring? ok so I won't need the switch tho.

If I have someone else do it I"ll give them some instructions on how I want it wired, so they don't use the switch.

lol I don't want to annoy you but what do you mean by wiring two to the high beam and one to the low beam?

you only have two lights lol

just buy a cheap $3 12volt tester(looks like a small screwdriver with a wire sticking out the handle end of it) to figure out what plug does what. Then you wont have to worry about frying any wires.

and u might as well do it yourself...if u take it somehwere they r probably just goin to guess untill they get it rite too..good example my step-bro got fog lights hooked up in his blazer they started a fire the next day....."if u want somethin done right u gotta do it yourself"

yes i agree do it yourself, i used a tester like RRP said, what i mean is when i push the high beam switch on, both lights light up. when i push the low beam swtch only the right one lights up.. i think it might be the left....no its the right i went and checked.

run the lights right off of the batterie. thats what my friend did with his 400ex. use the switch that came with it to turn them off and on. get out a drill and mount the switch where the neutral light is on a 400ex.

I didn't get them done yet but I will soon I"ll try to get some pics too.

It seems like it would be hard to do, maybe during the week I have off I'll take it to get them put on.

I put some fog lights on mine thier 12volts they drain the battery in a min if u leave them on with the quad not running, other then that they work fine and make mine look like a 400.

I bought the same lights at Wal-mart. They work great! I have the lights set to my low beams switch. Of course when you switch the lights to high they don't work. These lights light up the road better then my truck.
