You can buy a complete motor from honda for about $3500. I bought a 2005 crf motor from honda last year. Its nice and shiny, and they can ship it ups. it comes as just the motor, with no electrics. but you can buy all that stuff from honda. Here is a tip, the fcr carb (use the honda part number) works the best on a crf. I have had 3 crf hybrids, and I have had alot of luck with this setup. I doesn't matter what year really, they are all good. I will say this thou, you may be better off just buying a complete used crf450r bike. there is alot of them around, they can be found pretty reasonably, and then you have all you need. just ebay the rest of the bike.

if it comes down to it i will just pay the 4500...Money is not the issue but I just was hoping if i found one for cheaper i could buy some more sets of tires....the conversion is going on this...

I have a crf 450 motor. It needs a rod piston and valves. would come with carb electronics and the muffler that fits a quad frame. would like $1500 if interested email me at jaddanes@msn.com thanks

Would you just sell everything except the motor? it has to be a brand spanking new motor but I need electronics, exhaust, and carb

Not sure but heres my conundrum...I can buy a brand new crf engine with electronics and carb for 4500$ but I can buy a brand new Crf450 engine from honda shipped for 3500$ without electronics and carb...so I would imagine it to be less than 600 or its not worth it to me.

I cant do 600 because the carb was 500 the pipe was 500 and the electronics were 400.

I dont have any pics of the pipe in the frame. you can either get one from baldwin. i think he still makes them mine was $500

Yeah I need a HMF pipe anyway to pass DB inspection

If your going to build a crf450 hybrid/ex, a trx450 stock header and 400ex HMF slipon is a good combo. I know a guy that runs it and has great luck with it.

Also...what gearing should I run? Im wanting to with as small of gears as I can to gain as much clearance for the swing arm skid...us XC guys need all the room we can get back there for that thing to squish when we start hitting rocks

or you can just tell me a good gearing set up and I can figure out a smaller set up with the same ratio on the ratio charts
