hammer and a small punch should take care of it

you can always just pry the plate off with a screwdriver..

do you have a torch that you can use to heat it up and then it should punch out, if not you may just have to cut it out. Also is there slack in the chain, link will be hard to get out if theres tension on it

without tension on the chain it should push or wiggle out no problem unless theres a ridge on it then youll have to squeze it out but it shoudnt be that dificult .

you were prying the plate thats on the same side as the clip was on right? You need to pry both sides (one at a time works), just got back and forth with a decent sized screwdriver (so you dont break the tip off).

I wouldnt recomend heat if you have an o-ring chain...

yeah i was trying to pry the plate off of the side that the clip came off. Then i also tried the other side. I just think i am going to oil it up really good and then try it. and i would never heat my chain since it is an o-ring
