ok how much horsepower do you think this would have. i am looking for serious answers please, no bull shi t.

here's what it has
1999 400ex
slip on white brothers pipe
wiseco 10:1 piston on stock bore
stage 2 hotcam
velocity intake
prm front bumper
dg alloy nerfs
oneal bars
tether switch

the guy who owns it said it has like 37 hp. i don't know a whole lot about 400ex's but that sounds like a bunch of crap. my friend is buying it and i wanted to know some real numbers to tell him. thanks guys

lol well i found that stock is 27, so i was figurin about 34 or so with all that. you think thats close. i found that ct racing makes a 440 kit with full port and valve job that only makes 37. thats why im here tryin to figure it out.

I think I know the machine your talking about. I got a little info for ya. All this info was before the velocity intake with the kn filter.

July 2005 date was messed up on dyno
3:08:34 PM
Run type: R O
Run Conditions: 113.53 degrees farenhiet, 28.85 in-Hg, Humidy 13%,
SAE: 1.07
speed (mph) 87 (16 tooth front sprocket)
400ex
Max Power=34.47

Maybe that info will help you out and remember this dyno run was before the velocity intake. I'm not sure what it is now but seat of your pants the intake helped a bunch.

It did get low on power a little later that day after some serious trail riding. I soon found the problem was some trx250r parts were clogging the intake. I'm not sure how to explain that except he must have been slower then I was! :eek2:

so its YOU!!! j/k well he doesn't have his facts straight it seems. he was sayin 37 and like i said before i thought 33 or 34 would be closer. monday he wants to drag against me so we'll see:devil: . guess i'll see you sunday cause i'm goin with him to wichita. oh by the way did the velocity intake really help alot, or just barely noticable.

The velocity intake added lots of power, I'm not sure how much but it was very noticable. I was leary about buying it for along time, damn they are proud of them. It was well worth the money. I would bet it would be close to 37hp. Notice the temp on them dyno runs. Heat like that robs power.

Today my boss found out I was going to Wichita Sunday and asked if I would haul another guy so he could get his new service truck I also found out I'm getting a new service truck also so this is gonna be a nice trip. Then soon after I hope to have a new 06 450r.:D

I love the ex and hate to see it go but I have started racing harescrambles. Everyone else has modded 450's so I gotta spend money on suspension or just upgrade. I'm very happy with the power of the ex.

Are you running the KORR harescrambles? What class are you running?

I ran the Oct 3? harescramble at Dodge City. It was the midwestmx series. I didn't goto the Dec. 5? race at Dodge, I didnt' want to mess up my quad since I had it all ready to be sold. I plan on running the St Valentines Massacre in Feb.

The one race at Dodge I ran the pro class. All other races I have been in weren't true sanctioned races. Just stuff at monster truck shows and such.

What do you ride, what class, what tracks, will you be at Jeeps in Feb?

well i finally rode it the other day. my bud's 400ex that is. the one this whole thread started over. it runs pretty damn good. (for a 400:D ) i will say it does run good for what it is. he tries but its just no match for my R, gabes R, or cory's fyz. Not tryin to diss 400's but they weren't meant to go that fast. but like i said, it runs damn good for a 400.

Whoever to you 37 hp is:rolleyes: That 400 with those mods is only running 28-30hp. My mods are in my sig. I'll take your R:D My head is getting DRG ported right now. Test will be posted soon. We should see ALOT more HP from just the port:devil:

I forgot to add that the filter setup posted is not helping with hp..ok..maybe .5hp. I have test those on the yfz and no impressive gains. We have something coming to:D

can you buy the velocity intake for a preddy? i know alot of guys with preds and raptors just bolt on a Honda civic intake. if you go to www.predatorowners.com, that seems to be the popular trend. what is your MJ with the velocity? its gotta be like 170 or 180!!! major airflow!!! looks sweet though man!
