do u have to buy a new swingarm to run the cr500 linkage? or will an 89 swingarm work. is it that much better? what does it do different?

you need to buy a new swinger and new frame.
cr500 link will only work with a laeger or walsh chassis.
yes it makes a big differnce but there is no way youll get it to work on a stock chassis.

It doesn't have to be a laeger or a walsh but you'll have to buy an after market frame that is made for the CR500 linkage along with a swinger and new back shock to match. I've got a PRP that uses a CRF450 linkage and it is awesome, a lot like a CR500 the linkage is just cheaper to buy and replace.
