90% of them are having powercoating done.

If you don't know what that is I'll give the simple explanation of it.

Powercoating is applied by shooting a charged power onto the parts you want painted. To explain that it think of metal shavings and a magnet. Then they are put into an oven and baked on. This makes the paint extremely durable and more resistant to chipping. you can hit it with a hammer and it will not break free of the surface.

Pappy at BK performance would be able to anwser all your questions.

most people don't paint them, they buy aftermarket fenders that are black. Paint tends to chip or flake off of the plastics because th plastic is flexible and bendable. They make a paint specifically for plastic, the company is krylon, but I found that it doesn't work very well...I had better experiance with regular paint.

I have tried thr krylon stuff also and didn't find it to be all that great. Its flexes but doesn't stick to the plastic as good as they claim. The only spray can stuff I know works but its matte black in color is the stuff called BUMPER BLACK its been around for years and is designed to go on the rubber type car bumpers.

If you take enough time(about a week) to do it right, it will work good...you gotta rough up the plastic probably a little then primer and do like 7 coats or so to it. Then let it dry for around a week...talk to Mxjunkie...thats how he did his.

But yes you have to buy aftermarket to get other colors...here are some links
