400ex plastic on a 300ex...

my friend is giving me his old 400ex plastic but will it fit my 300ex?because i want to get a carbonfiber hood scoop. so will the plastic fit.

Tell me more... I haven't seen this before on a 300. What mods are required? I would prefer to keep the 300 plastic on mine, but there is a major price difference, so I could learn to live with the 400 plastic.
