how bad does this hurt resale value and could i get a real title. i was loking at a 95 mustang gt that the topend is off of that i would have to put back together. all the parts are there but i was thinking a hole new tope end, possibly trickflow heads and intake. the car already has a cam(not sure on type) and exhaust from the headers back. what kind of hp do you think i would be making with this setup and also the title question

you can get a new title from dmv.. it depends what happened to the car, did it catch on fire, or did the engine blow..

I own a 2000 Mustang GT with a previous salvage title. It now has a rebuilt title I believe. (I haven't looked at my title since I bought it, so I'm not positive). As far as resale goes, I think a salvage or rebuilt title pretty much kills it. I've heard if you buy a salvage car plan on driving it into the ground because you won't get anything for it if you sell it. If you do sell it you have to tell the buyer it has a salvage title. That right there will give them a huge reason to Jew you down on price. Hope this helped you a little.

salvage title usually means there was major frame damage or the vehicle was declared totalled by the insurance. Of course if fixed right there is nothing wrong with a vehicle with salvaged title, BUT that kills its loan value = therefore getting a loan from the bank is very difficult to obtain if the vehicle is priced to high. Don't get me wrong they still give out loans on salvaged titles, but they are just harder to get.

Yep, a salvage title means the car has been totaled by an insurance company and someone got it driveable and wanted it back on the road, so they got a salvage title for tag and ownership purposes.
Most cars with salvage titles tend to never be "good". They sometimes squeak, wires are pinched from the wreck which gives problems down the road and things just dont line up well. Unless you are really good with repairs, I say stay away from one. Sometimes they are cars from flooded areas also.

They do make good beaters and farm work vehicles though.

Rergister it under a lost title.
