View Full Version : Dmc full exhaust jet ques.

I bought a dmc full exhaust for my 400ex and I was wondering what type of jetting that it might take. I also have a k&n airfilter on the bike so if anyone knows I would gladly take some suggestions
And if you have a system were u happy with the outcome, if so in what ways.

I've got the full DMC on my 400ex also. I love it. It's really loud too, which I like.

I have a modded air box lid and K&N with Dynojet and Im running a 165 main. Maybe not"perfect" but real close. I called DMC to get there take on it and they said a 160 main Dynojet. To me that seemed a little lean having all the intake mods. So, I upped it one size. No harm being a tad rich, it'll run a little cooler too.

As far as where it helped, just about everywhere, bottom to top. My 400ex has tons of low end and loves to pull hard thru the meat of the powerband. Has a respectable top end also.

how loud is it compared to a fmf or a white bros, is it louder than a big gun

Ive never had any other pipe than the DMC, and dont know anyone that has any of those. Ive heard from others that is comparable to the Big Gun.

it's not a annoying type of loud is it, I mean it won't hurt your ears after riding for a while will it

nah, its not loud with your helmet on. I did make the mistake of letting the silencer packing completely disintegrate without my knowing. And without the packing, yes, it sounds horrible.

It actually sounds a little like a Harley, real deep and throaty. Your neighbors will know it when its fired up. It sounds like and other good 4 stroke pipe, nice and throaty. Dont worry about it, just put it on and ride, you'll love it.

dyno jets and kehin jets are not the same size so unless you use a dyno jet kit your setups will not match
