It will make a ton of difference! I had 7oz removed off the stock flywheel and it made a difference. It is a different riding feel since the lightened flywheel lets the engine rev faster. If your racing you have to ride on the gas kinda like a two stroke motor. It effects the powerband or RPM curve. Theres someone here that can get more technical on this issue.

i had one and my bike was slower. it wasn't really noticable by the feel of it though. i mean slower when dragging. i had another built bike and we raced before and after the install of the light flywheel. it sure slowed me down.....several bike lengths in a longer race.

Logically it should not slow you down in a drag. The lightened flywheel will create much less resistence for the motor. This should let you go faster through the RPM range and gears.

It should only slow you down while coasting because the lightened mass cannot keep the compression from providing its resistence like it does.

buying a flywheel weight is a good investment

how did it slow you down cals400ex? if you want to trade for a stock one so you can go faster let me know and I'll trade you. I know that cc guys add weights to help from stalling and drad guys take off as much as they can.
