I would do axis tripple rate and vave them valved for your weight... they will ride better than elkas. IMO

depends on how much money you have. If you have a ton get the new axis all around. If not to much, call Laz at GT THunder and find out about his stock rear shock redo and link. Then call Elka and get some front non-rezzis. All that will cost you about 800. But it will be a great improvement and money WELL spent.

Why would they ride any better than elkas setup for his weight?

just axis are known for being the best. I've ridden on tcs, elka, works, pep and axis and axis is my fav. the tcs then elka then pep. I'm not a fan of pep. I honestly think they're over rated. Ir's just imo tho.

it woudl be a good start but i'd try to find a set of used works for aroun 150-200 with rezzies on ebay and get them revalved for your weigh b/c no matter what set you buy your going to need to revalve. Im in teh same boat as you im 280 and u never see used shock set for that weight. also just get yoru stock rear revalved also.

my hometown race shop ordered a set of elkas set up for a guy that was 400 lbs. they said the springs look like toyota springs but the guy LOVED them. ;)

Not too long ago I ordered some Works G Series front shocks for my 400EX and I'm more than pleased. They have the larger 5/8" shaft than the steelers and they're priced around $450.

I'm not as large as you but I had mine set up for 230# I think it was but I'm less than that now.
