Just wondering if there are any sites availible to check out the current steel prices..or where i could get a quote for the materials I need...

a few months ago when we bought steel, it cost $500 for 15 pieces of 22 ft 2x2" tubing. dunno if its the same now, but it should be somewhere in that range. -steve

go to a local steel yard or look in the phone book, when I bought the steel fro my ramp i bought 10 pieces of 2x2" 20ft 14 guage and then 4 2" by 20 ft strips and then 3 pieces of raised expanded matel and i only payed $410 for it all delivered its prolly about 1.5 times more than that now

alright, sounds good...thanx guys...i heard steel prices maybe going down soon?...or it may have been an old article?...idk for sure...thanx again tho

I didn't know that steel prices could go down :p Not likely that they'll go down much if any or before they go up again...

im not really into metal working so i have no idea whats going on with it...just what i read, hardly ever welded for that matter :o can still learn, thats not a problem...;)..i also read that the steel prices went up due to the chinese buying a bunch of steel...wether it be scrap or or some new stuff...idk..."just what i read"...

go to a job site, look for some leftover stuff

my dads an iron worker, so i go with him to his job once and a while and get some
