what is a hemi i seen it on tv with trucks but i dont know what it is

Its a motor used by dodge. It was used in some of the old muscle cars and is now used in many of dodges lineup.

It is short for hemispherical! The combustion chamber is shaped like a half dome with the spark plug in the center therefore called hemispherical chamber or a hemi.. It is really not that big of a deal Toyota has used it for years..


Hemi now a days is nothing more than hype!


The Hemi used today is nothing like the old engine used 35 years ago !!

and that the the current Hemi isn't evena true hemishperical combustion chamber.... it only a moderate dome, but i guess the name is a great marketing tool

Some civics are hemis, along with the new honda foreman.
