i have a 99 400ex i could trade for a restored 86 lt250r with DG front and rear bumper full DG exhaust douglas red label polished rear wheels and douglas wheels, new top end brand new factory wiring harness coil and cdi box. It was pulled apart and everything was pulled apart and repainted. Would this be a good trade? i ride mainly trails and want somthing reliable.. i had a rm125 so i know about 2 strokes...any suggestions?

Stick wiht the 400ex 250r are sweet bikes but not for trail riding. 400 are prefect for trailing.

If memory serves, the 86 isn't a very desirable year. The later years saw a powervalve addition, and a few other improvements.

Try and find parts for the Suzuki? When something breaks, where are you going to get a swingarm, a-arms,etc. Finding parts for the 400 is easy compared to the 250. The 250 might be fast in a straight line, but it will not corner like the 400. You think that the 400 is hard to sell, try selling the Suzuki to someone.
