never heard of them but there are probably a thousand companies that can do engine work.not just sparks or fst like everybody seems to think on here.:rolleyes:

It really depends on the type of porting, and other modification.

On an otherwise stock motor, it can give you a few horsepower at the top end, but the low end will suffer.

Unless you have a highly modified engine, with an aggressive camshaft and possibly a big-bore, porting isn't going to give you much.

The stock porting is optimized for the stock engine. You wouldn't really want to change it unless you're also changing other aspects of the motor.

I know there are others out there, but I had mine done at a kart shop and I would rather have it done by an atv specialist....

Always keep one thing in mind, there are hundreds of shops that say they can port a 4-stroke head, all they use is a template. But to truely maximize the potental of a port job,1- needs to be someone familiar with atv's, 2- has to know how and use a flow bench to properly get the right air flowing smoothly through the head. I'd highly recommend these already known companies including Trinity Racing and LRD- you may spend more money getting a port job done but atleast it will be right.

it doesnt matter if they specialize in atvs or not.porting is porting as long as they know what they are doing.rather it be for a drag bike,motorcycle ,or micro sprint.they should be able to put your powerband wherever you want it as far as lowend,topend etc goes.regardless of if its for a atv.atvs are just another vehicle that utilze the internal combustion engine thats all:)

Speaking of porting, on today,s 450's is porting really that important of an aspect in building a good race motor? It's not like back in the day when we had to go with big bores and even bigger carbs. Now days if you slap in a HC piston and cams you can be competitive as far as engine, so is porting really as vital now as it has been in the past?

no.with todays new 4 fiddys they come with apretty good head stock.sure there could be a hp or 2 hiding in there but it would more than likely be at the topend with some loss on the bottom.so with actually just a exhaust system and rejtting they are close to 45hp or more.dont let a company tell you that its mandatory because its not.:)
