where do you get octane gas???

Where can i find 93 octane gas?

I was told thats as high of an octane as i can go for a 250ex.

would it be okay for the mods i have?

Actually it depends on his location. Here in CA, the gas stations only have 87, 89, 91 anything high you have to use additives.

Really it wasn't a bad question, just left out a few details...

The fuel additives do not work the way they sound, if you're speaking of those "octane boosters". Yes, it was a good question, but it gets annoying when you have 4 other people restating the answer.

You should be able to get the 93 octane gas at local gas stations. If this is no longer available where you live, contact a local bike shop and they should be able to direct you where some is. :cool:

Unless you have a rebuilt engine you should be fine with the highest octane that your local station carries.

by the looks of your sig you have no mods that would need a higher octane than what the MFG reccomends. Which is probably high test or mid grade.

A 250EX does not need more than the cheapest pump gas available. The only time high octane is needed is when you're running a high compression motor. High octane does not mean high horse power if you don't need it you're just spending more money for no real reason.

They're misleading. From what I have been told and read, instead of raising the 8 points from 93 to 101 they raise it .xx number. Something like that, basically, you aren't gaining hardly anything at all from using an octane booster.

Exactly. Its a 250ex, the compression is not that high, run 87. You could probably get away with even lower than that! I ran 87 in my 400ex ALL the time with no problems what so ever. The higher octane burns at a higher temperature, thus eliminating pre-detonation, so in all actuality, your making your quad harder to start with higher octane.

I read in my manual that for pump gas i can run 86 or higher so I"m gonna run premium or super premium which is like 91 or 93 octane.

ive been looking for 100 0ctane. i know they used to use it in airplanes but now its more commom to find 100LL at local airports

avation gas is 108 or so you can get it at any airport really, its good for storing stuff because its lifetime is almost 5-6 years.

you can get 94 at sunoco and sunoco has race gas as well its 110 octane or so.

then vp is 108, 110 and 112

no to be an *** but why would you want to run 93 or higher in your quad. I run it because i have to.. your manual recommends 87. your just wasting money, and you could be losing power by running higher then you have to.
