My buddy gave me a ride on the back of his articat F7 to a friends house we were zipping along pretty good and i look at the speedo and it said 120 i got real nervous after seein this.

On the way back we were going up a snow covered rode and a car backs out in the rode we were doing roughly 60-70mph we couldnt stop and i bailed off the back of the sled the sled colided with the car witch was a 85 audi and basicly took the trunk off. My body colided with the front of the car, my helmet putting a 1ft dent through the passenger door cracking my helmet. When i woke up i was put on a stretcher being lifted into an ambulance. I couldnt feel my legs thinking that i fractured my pelvous i was in a neck brase and everything. They cut my cloths off and stuck an IV in my arm. I had no clue on what was going on after getting a catscan i had no real broken bones just a cuncusion and neck pain. I was able to leave after being in the hospital for 8hrs.

Well right now im in a neck brase my helmet shattered and my friend the driver off the sled and car are both alright. The sled was confiscated and was basicly totaled. So guys when your out there on whatever your on make sure you ware your helmet!

don't bother buying any lottery tickets for the rest of your life, because you wont win, you just used up the rest of your good luck!

his is all modded up for racing and the speedo goes up to 160 on them. Ya i slid into the car backwards puching my head forward into my chest i am all bruised up and have a leg brace as well. Ive never ridden a sled or been on one before so i figured he knew what he was doing. I give my g/f a ride on my quad and i can go fast and still be in control

Cause 60-70 isnt all that fast for a snowmobile. Ofcourse with a passenger you might have to slow down a bit more because of all the extra weight and the extra area you would need to stop or slow down.

damn man that sucks, hope you heal up good. im in the process of saving up for a nice snowmobile but dont plan on riding roads unless i need to connect feilds.

400exstud- your right about that, this is one situation where a loud pipe might have helped out.

The speedo's on sleds are a little off so he might not have been going 120. But those f7's are fast and will go that fast. When I was ridng snowmobile I had this happen to me but I was able to get off the road and go into a field. Sound like you are lucky to be alive. Always wear a helmet!

when your doing 60-70 in a sled on public roads on ice and snow you are NOT ever in control. this is a perfect example

Glad to hear your ok ... you're lucky to still be alive .

This is a perfect example as to why you should always ride with care when on the roads . You never know when someone might back out of their driveway or when something unexpected can happen . Here in Ontario , we've already had 1 death because someone hit a car cuz they were riding the roads at a high rate of speed .... and sledding seasons isn't even in full force yet . :ermm: . There's a time and a place to open up a sled and see what speeds you can go .... a lake is the perfect place .. not the streets . You're lucky that you bailed .... chances are if you didn't you'd be in worse shape than you are . Sorry for the preaching ... it's just that I know WAY too many people that either get hurt or die each year from sledding accidents .

Also like someone said .... when you're on the roads , you have very little control of a sled . Stick to the trails or lakes ... and when on the roads use extreme caution and go less than half the speed limit . Sucks that your first sledding experience was a bad one ... snowmobiling is a great sport !!!!!

Glad to hear you are ok, had a buddy die like that about this time last year. Blizzard the roads had about a foot of snow and him and his brother were ridin up the road on different sleds. Well my buddy had his daughter on his sled and pulled around to pass his brother and couldn't see anything because of the snow dust and hit a car. Luckily his young daughter was fine but unfortunately he didnt make it. You are lucky!

Sounds like what happened to me at rausch creek. Only I cased a 60 foot double. I woke up in the hopsital with an IV. They cut off all my riding gear. I left the hospital about 10-12 hours later with just a bad concusion and a messed up face. I'm glad your ok. Imagine the same crash but at 120!:eek2:
