bluish colorful head pipe??? quick reply whats wrong???!!!

I just got my quad back from getting the jet kit air filter and hmf pipe put on and i noticed that i have a blueish colorful rainbow head pipe. I don't know if it is supposed to do this or not. I don't think it needs to be rejetted bc its not popping or crackling like its too lean and it starts up fine so I don't think its too rich.

It only crackles and pops when i decellerate. please, please tell me if something is wrong!:(

the only thing you can do is to pull your plug and see what it looks like.

Do a plug check may be a tad lean.

But, almost all head pipes will discolor some. It's a fact of life ;) Harley's dont because they have a chrome pipe over the outside of their actual pipe. They cheat. ;)

You probably need to adjsut your air screw or pilot jet for the popping on deceration.

I know i need to change my plug bc i had alot of carbon build up on my stock exhaust and i told my dad I"ll do it on the weekend, so I'll change it.

Would this affect the power gains at all with having this kind of problem?

the only thing it can be is its lean.

bwamos is correct, may have to do with the changing of seasons with the colder, denser air.

ya it is normal i just got a fmf powercore 4 with the header for my 300ex and the header turned to a rainbow color....i don't think you have anything to worry about!

Our boy scout troop just got new stoves a while ago, and the first time we turned them on, the rack turned rainbow.:cool:

if your header is turning colors that would mean your running hot.... hot= lean i would check it out, u dont wanna be running lean. Pull the plug and check the color. If its light grey then your lean

Everything is fine it is jjust the heat acting on the stainles steal nothing is wrong it is actually suposed to do that gives it a neat effect look almost everything does it dont worry guys got some pretty weird replys though lol:macho

my quad is the same thing as yours. my head pipe is probably the same color as yours. dont worry about it its perfectly normal. and my jetting is not off because i had it in the shop and i just asked them to make sure the jetting was right while i had it there
