i have herd that (HMF full exhaust, hotcam stage 2,wiseco 12:1 piston, and the bore gives the quad lots and lots of power) i would try to take the lid off of your airbox and run a K&N w/ an outerwear....

foley, your biggest thing to watch out for is to make sure there isnt any rusty jjose around when u put the stuff on LMAO\

but i c u decided to go with the 440 kit, good choice, what one are you goin with? im not sure what kind that one 440 i rode was, but it had tons of power and those peps made it real nice, get some of those too haha

1. make sure you don't over torque any bolts..

2. make sure the timing chain does not drop or come off the gear, big headache if it does.

3. make sure you take out the decompression mechanism and spring

4. make sure the gaskets are good.

5. go buy a complete gasket set from the local honda dealership

contact me if you need anything else

I am currently running the setup of 440 with stg 2 hot cam, and hmf pipe and i love it. If you can heavy duty studs would be good because of blowing head gaskets. Also i have a little starter trouble if my battery starts going bad. I love the setup what little trouble i have is nothing compared to that power.:)

use some gasket sealer when u put the base gasket on, just a tip.. i put mine on without any sealer and it leaked, then tore it back down, put a new gasket on it with sealer and wala:)

Replace the stock cam chain with the 02 CRF 450 chain for reliability. Get the heavy duty head studs and save yourself the headache. Lastly use GOOD QUALITY gaskets. Either Honda gaskets, Vesrah, or Cometics. I've had good luck with the cometic gaskets.

I run a full HMF now. I ran just a slip on then traded it and got the full system and i could tell a big difference. I believe i can punch mine one more time before it gets to thin, and i have rode ones that are punched all the way and i cant tell a difference. but hey it is just like half a mm.:ermm:
