Well im new here and i didnt know where to post this but i have a question on my old 1986 Honda TRX 200 SX....i am wondering where is the setup or sensor that tells the electric start its in neutral so it will work..im pretty sure when the water froze all over the quad(didnt have any way to prevent this on the trails) that the setup or sensor broke on this because when you try to push the button when the key is on and its in neutral it reacts as if its in gear of the key is turned off..it starts with a couple pulls with the pull cord..and the neutral light and reverse light do not work on the dash..any ideas here..i dont not have the money to take it into the dealer..i just dont know where to look or start

Thanks
Kyle

Hello fellow Canadian;

I'd suggest you check the wiring, there is a switch in the gear box that tells the quad if it's in neutral or not. My trx300 4x4 doesn't e-start any more, it has to be kick started in gear. It's having the same problem as yours execpt yours starts in neutral. Does the battery have charge? Check all the connections maye some got loose or corroded. Try boosting it?

If that doesn't work let me know.

The battery is fine..infact i had to boost our truck with the battery..and it did it fine lol..Its just that when you press it it does the excact same thing when you try to press it when its in gear or key is off..The button doesnt go in all the way..I phoned my local dealer and they said the sensor is underneath the quad by the tranny i havnt taken a look at it yet but i will soon once i get the gas out..and i check all the wires that go from the button down into the dash and they were fine..any other help would be great!

Thanks
