I recently installed the HMF full system on my '02 and re-jetted to the 180 main jet with stock pilot and 2.5 turns out on the fuel screw, which was provided with the kit and recommended by HMF. This setup seems to work fine at sea level, but was cutting out above half throttle (too rich??) when i took it up to around 3000 ft. The only other mod I have is a UNI filter, but I keep the air box lid on.
After searching around here for a while, I noticed that a 180 main seems way too rich. I am wondering what settings would be optimal for operating at 3,500 feet and below. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not running a HMF but I ride in AZ at about 2000-3000 feet and run a 150 main with a slip-on and a K&N

I never understood where the heck HMF got their jetting recommendations from. I ran a 11:1 piston, stage 1 hotcam, slip on, and uni with no lid and I was running a 155 main and it was still a tad rich!!! Try like a 152 main, 40 pilot, and 4th clip down on the needle.
