Will a 87 to 89 crank fit in a 86 bottom end? Do I need a spacer?

Thanks

It's not the bottom end you need to worry about. Yes, it will fit just fine.

You may or may not need a spacer on the TOP end, depending on what piston you use.

Can I just change the rod? For the crank. Realy don't want to change the crank...

It's extremely difficult to "just change the rod". The crank really is the center of your engine, and requires very precise tolerances to maintain strength and reliability. It's not something your average shop can do, it really requires a specialty crank shop.

With an 87-89 crank and an 87-89 piston, you do not need a spacer. The only time you need a spacer is with the 87-89 crank and the 86 piston.
