This is prolly a stupid question, but when you bore ten thousandths over do you need a bigger piston or just new rings?

Yes.. you will need a new piston.

Think of it this was. What would happen if you got a shoe that is 1/2 size bigger and you put on clean socks. How would the fit be compared to the smaller size with clean socks?
