View Full Version : Might be selling my Mustang...

I might be selling my Mustang. I need a more commutable car to take me across the state twice a week for school. Most of the mods are listed in my sig.

This will be sold as a 'rebuilder/project' to save headaches.

Won't pass any inspection yet, but has a crystal clear title.

Pros:
- Brand new clutch professionally put in
- Good tires
- Aftermarket CD player with Mach 460 sound system, 12" sub in the rear
- Brand new windshield
- Kept up to date on maintence (oil, tranny fluid, etc.)
- Aftermarket exhaust (looks good, quiet, good gas milage)

Cons:
- Was in an accident (last owner). Airbags blown, but stuffed back into place so you don't see that.
- Odometer has stopped at 91,999. Last owner must have tried to roll it back and screwed it up. It worked when I test drove it, but 1 week later, it was at 91,999. My best guess for milage now would be around 98,000.
- Gas gauge(1/10 tank under) and speedometer (7mph fast) are off.

This is all I will list for now. I paid 2500 for it last May, and since then I have put in $2250 to bring it where it is now. Motor is VERY reliable, and there is no doubt in my mind about it not starting in any weather condition each morning.

What would you guys offer on this? Even if you wouldn't buy it, what would you expect to pay? I'm not sure what to list it at, and would like some ideas. Thanks!

At the time I only had 2500, and this is the best I could get. A GT would have been nice, but it just wasn't in the budget. I'm not sure what to ask. That's why I posted this. Thanks for the comment, pictures don't do it justice.

Side note - There is no longer a black stripe on the hood, I got it painted the origional blue. I park this car outside at work and people constantly ask me about it. It's a real head turner driving down Main street!

Bump, I really don't need to get that much for this. I would take UNDER what I origionally paid for it.

I am no where neer close enouf to buy your mustang. but is that how much they go for?

because I bought a 1987 lx for 1,700 that was pretty much a bondo bucket... but I smashed it.

so for 3k can I get a mustang of that newer body style? What exactly is wrong with the car to make it cost that? rusty?

A mint condition 97 is going for 3,999 here right now.

because of the new body style, it has made all other body styles decrease in value. plus the sn95 style (like his) is for some reason the least desirable. personally i like it, and if that was a gt i would buy it cause i like the blue. but its only a single port v6, and doesn't have that much get up and go. nice car though! i like the hood. it is definately worth what you say, and i would not take under 2500 for the car if i were you.

Thank you very much for clearing that up better than I would ever be able to. I was very suprized when I test drove this 'little V6'. It has more get up and go than any other V6 I have driven. I'm not saying it's the fastest out there by any means, but it sure does hold its own weight. It is also geared better than any car I have driven. The spaces are so wide between each gear, you are able to top out the car (I didn't do this, a guy I went to school with did) in 3rd gear!

no doubt fords 3.8 block is a beast. it can handle alot for what it is, without having to convert to forged internals. there are tons of parts out there for them, just as many as the gt's, because v6's are more popular so modding them is a reality. other good aspects are it gets better gas mileage than a gt, and cheaper insurance.
