Mods are:
550r, 45mm FCR carb, no lid, DASA Head, and more..

That's one of the greatest sounding quads I have heard, loud as hell too:eek2: . I can only imagine what it would be like to ride that beast.

believe it or not, I try to do a lot of riding throughout the year in the foot-hills of PA. This year building the 530R and the 550R took away from the riding time, especially when I was waiting on parts. This is my main reason for my new stoke bore stock stroke rebuild so it can be a reliable very powerful setup. I want the reliability back so I can enjoy what I really like to do- riding,... :macho:

not really anymore with the 550 engine setup. The 550 never really had gotten the chance to make more than 58 before the valves floated and tagged my piston.

that really sux. Well I guess youll use better springs next time. My grandpa always used to say mark that off as experience ...........bad experience. Not a bad run for not having it dialed in. Are you ever going to post a dyno of that 530 with fuel injection and turbo?

yes, we are working on getting that setup finalized. I know we keep saying that, but tis the season for other priorities until the new year.

maybe true, but this was the second pull when the setup wasn't even dialed in. HP is easier to obtain. Torque isn't!

As pointed out, the HP might have been there but i bet you were down a boat load of torque compared to that 550 :D

1.5 more torque.....i made more torque at 4600 rpm than you make at your peak. This motor makes so much torque the clutch couldnt hold it.

Even with a slipping clutch i mustard up 61 HP.

My new clutch is in and i will dyno it real soon and show you the runs, as i always do. Lets see your runs throwinsparx.....

Well lets see here is my 9 to 1 comp 530 motor that chad designed that has both torque and hp.

Here is a graph of a drag 530R. Maybe Jim can post some pics of the bike. This bike made 60hp on a +6 extended swingarm.

DASA Full Exhaust

I think you all should get get ur quad tested so there wont be as many fights i know i don't have a quad but i might be geting a 1988 250x with a few mods (i can't handel much i'm 13) the guy said it will do 70 mph no problums

ya'll should know by now that I don't really give a hoot what you'll think of the ol' 550 performance, if I did, I would have not have shown everyone the destruction of it for that matter,... :rolleyes:

I've had many top builds for years now, its only the 550 that was the only one so far that hasn't worked out for me. Not that the 550 couldn't have, its just that i think a short rod stroker in combination with sagging springs killed the build before it really got going.

the passion for me is doing what most can't without having to pay someone else to build it,... Its easy to call and pay for parts, but its harder to specify to the crank houses, machine shops, and even to top engine builders your specs.

the next 450R build ive started is all about the bottom end crank and counter and a top end like no other

Now, for my clarification about your 54hp,... 53-54 what-ever,.. maybe you'll get more with using exotic fuel, or better tires, or whatever,... I don't care,.... you are missing my point,.... your 477 is IMO weak cause i think a 477 should have more potential... I'm not saying that 54 is weak i'm saying that your 54hp 477 is down from everyone elses as comparison,... do you understand that? don't believe me, take a look around on the net and others running big bore displacement get more than yours... even your father builder is on his,... it's not just HP chucky, its the tq....
