I bagged a 12 point during deer gun week. Here is a pic (left to right) of my buddy with a nine point, another buddy with an eight, and me with my twelve.

I'm not sure on the spread of the nine point. The deer below was shot on the same farm two years ago, and had a 24" spread.

Nobody in Pa follows the game rules anyways so why does it matter.:p

Anyways nice deer that looks like a hell of a farm.

This is, I guess, aimed more towards Tommy.

What is your main issue with Alt's system? (besides that we cant kill any deer we see).
I agree man, the system is flawed, but I do actually agree with the point system for the most part. Im all for letting that little one walk.

What his plan missed on was two major areas: the number of does still needs to be reduced, and I dont think he ever realized how sparse much of the gamelands are when it comes to deer population, especially does. The suburbs and many developments that are popping up around here (and in many areas of the country, I might add), have given way to an explosion in the deer population.

So, I would propose to reduce the does. Extend the season, including a longer general rifle season during late October for just does. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks even. And, of course, accordingly increase the number of doe tags allocated--why they continue to reduce them is beyond me.
Way I see it, get the number of does down (try to get ratio between 4:1 and 2:1 [doe to buck]) and there will surely be an increase of the number of rack bucks legal to shoot.

BUT, opinions are like you know what, and mine is flawed in a couple ways, but thats because there really is no perfect solution to control our deer---there is no way to please everyone, a compromise must be reached, perhaps unfortunately.

I didn't shoot the deer in the last two pictures. I did, however, have the first chance to shoot it. I was standing at the edge of a field, and it came trotting out of the woods straight at me, and it stopped when it saw me. I was speechless. I had never seen a deer that big. I shot a buck the day before, and we are allowed one buck per season. I never took my safety off, and never considered shooting it. It trotted down the woodline right to my buddy (in the picture), and he dropped it. The guy's son had been hunting that deer for a couple years, and has it on film walking around the woods.

The buck has never been scored.

You would be surprise it should score real high. My guess gross
165BC or better. 160 makes book.

was that like a deer farm ( $paid$ hunt) or just a private farm that you hunt ? Nice deer either way

These were taken on a private farm. No pen raised deer, no fences. Deer are free to come and go as they please.

I used to deer hunt but I just can't do it anymore.
