I have a HRC 06 450r. Now i know the engines make a good deal of noise which is fine but im not sure on mine. When i ride along the tracks i hear like metal in metal if im in the high gears and just kinda bogging it. Its the sound like a loose chain gaurd but nothing is loose.

Its nerve raking but it runs perfect. I am just unsure....If you rev it not moving it sounds fine. The noise is def coming from up front and is noticable even with my helmet on.

Check your chain, my 05 makes a lot of noise when the chain becomes loose. It is usually the chain hitting on the metal countershaft sprocket guard.

But on my 04 you can lug it around
you can stay in 1st
but it will run crappy and make noises if you lug it. Thats why many say iits not a good trail quad. You just need to learn the clutch more and you can keep the r's up so it wont do that.

my 06 is the same way man. i was worried the first couple times i heard it but then read they are just loud clanky engines, but thats the way they are designed so i left it at that....if anyone is sure on the topic that would be cool....

mine makes that noise too if im going real slow in a high gear. i guess thats just the noise of the motor so i keep the revs up a little higher and downshift

Tighten the chain up. Mine was loose from the dealer and since the hrc install, I've adjusted again. All that hp and tq is streaching the chain:D
