How and where do I put the ignition after I take off the handlebar cover? Is this a good idea?
I put my ignition right above the 300 ex sticker. I drilled a hole the size of the switch and put a nut on the back of the switch. this is similar to how the Yamaha warriors setup is.

I DID THE SAME THING THAT 300EXRACER14 DID I DRILLED A HOLE ABOVE THE 300EX STICKER AND PUT THE IGNITION THERE, IT WORKS GREAT. BY THE WAY THIS IS A GREAT IDEA, THE 300EX LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE KIDDY QUAD WITH THE COVER ON. SOME RENTHAL BARS MAKE IT LOOK EVEN BETTER, GOOD LUCK.

I took that plastic piece and the ignition switch completely off when my key was stolen. The quad takes all of 10 - 15 seconds to hot wire anyway....... I figured if someone wanted it bad enough, they would take it. Now, all i have to do is conect the two wires and it is totally waterproof. I mounted my fog light switch on the two bolts that are on either side of where the ignition switch was. It looks good and is very functional -- havent had a probe yet.........

I put on the ignition plastic from a 87' 250x when I put on my Renthals.
