it will run that way but is not recommended you are not seeing the full benefit of the exhaust without rejetting it.

not what he said^^^ Don't waste your money on a "power up kit." I am assuming when you say "pipe" your talking about just the slip-on? And is this your only mod? You can purchase stock-type jets from C&D racing....and if I was you, I would go to a 150-152, and insert a 42 pilot. Go about 2 turns out on the air/mixture screw and you should be in the ball park.

If you need any help jetting, check out http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19832 for help. It shows how to install a K&N powerkit...but its the same thing. The reason I said to go with stock type jets is because they are about $5 a piece...instead of $50ish for the powerkit that does the same thing.

I'm trying to get the fella to upgrade his air intake. No i don't think you need a 42 pilot. A 40 maybe i've heard of people not having to touch there pilot jet. hell maybe thats my problem. lol

Most of the time after putting a pipe and filter on you would have to rejet. But there are rare instances where you can add a pipe and not have rejet. If the bike runs clean from top to bottom and there is not sputtering when you mash it, or popping when you let off the throttle then there is no need to rejet. You should only rejet when you need to, and I didn't say that Mickey Dunlap did.

with the pipe now on you arent experiencing total performance without rejetting you have more flow now with not necessarily enough fuel if you never jetted this thing yet with an upgraded filter possibly no lid etc . you are probably runnin lean as all hondas seem to be when there new especially when you increase the flow which a pipe is definitely gonna do .

NO! your need to jet or you will scorch your piston it has happend to me ridding it was running fine and then the pipe was to hot for the motor and scortched the piston you need to jet and plus you will get more power

Really jet size is dependent on the conditions where you live, where you live thats fairly low altitude and you will have to run a larger get than say a guy at say 5000, theres a few checking points in jetting and thats your spark plug reading and how it runs, even better would be getting it on a dyno with air to fuel ratio monitor.
