Yes well i started my quad friday just for the fun of it. Started up fine. Now today Sunday i went out to start it and it backfired really loud twice and would not start its like 29degrees out now.

prolly jetting. i dunno. what temp was it saturday when you started it??

And also when i went to change the spark plug last sunday it was black and fryed. I did alot of mud riding.

happened to mine to one time, the problem was the spark plug was sparking not in the right spot, making in not dspaark, and made a REALLY LOUD backfire, just changed the pulg, and she ran fine, and this was about the same degrees you were running

Good be both. I have the baffle removed out of my pipe and a uni air filter.

Okay i just went out to the quad and it started up once. But its like my battery keeps getting weaker when i start it.

there is another forum on this right now. However my same response to you as that one. It might not be the jetting. I have had three 400's now and my buddy has had two. We live in PA and when it gets cold they all suck trying to start. It is just a 400 thing. It has been in dirtwheels and every other forum I belong too. The 400ex just plain sucks when it gets cold out. When you get them runnin though they make up for it. Beat them to death.

k i fixed the problem just had to jump start it nd it ran fine.
