Talkin Smack DVX 400 VS 06 450r

iight so theres this guy that has been talkin big time smack about how his Arctic Cat DVX 400 has smoked a stock 450r and one with a hrc kit so now he wants to race me.... i just want to make sure i can smoke this guy no problem and where (if anywhere) his arctic crap will out do mine? just wondering if any of you guys have been down this road yet. also kind of wondering which quads already out do the 2006 450r and which ones dont... looking mainly for unbiased opinions as well thanks alot guys

I have a 04 450r with the hrc kit,pipe, jetting etc. and I can smoke pretty much every 400 or 440 out there. You will have no problem smoking a 400 with your 450r.

dude you will smoke this guy!! 400dvx handle terrible on tracks and the suspension is worst than my stock 400ex and thats terrible My neighbor had one and i beat him with a stock ex thats not stock anymore

He might beat you everywhere. Mostly depends on you. I don't run around telling everyone I am faster but I can beat lots of guys on YFZ450s and 450r with my 400ex. Don't think for a second I believe I could beat an equal rider on these bikes though.

One thing is for sure - if he beats you, then he is just a better rider than you...period.

im goin to race him on the street pavement to pavement so that there is no excuses. another thing is he took his baffle out and said it gives him more hp... i know this normally takes away compression as well as torque but i dont know much about arctic cats so is it the same for them? i plan on runnin him on the dirt too because i know theres going to be a excuse

No excuse??? u have to be a good rider to drag race dude...........just like anything else....its all rider..... if hes a better rider he could get u outta the hole no problem.... He could beat u on a track no problem if hes a better rider.... U could put Doug Gust on a blaster and you on a Yfz and hed smoke u... but all in all equal rider, u should beat him... 400's are not that fast... and an unbiased answer to ur question about the 06 450R, the bikes that will u beat u are Cannondales, and YFZ's....hands down. another bike that we all have to look out for is the 06 LT450R...

u probly live on a street:D go out and practice your starts a couple of times, LEAN FORWARD A LOT. pavement is tricky!!! i took 6 holeshots w/ an 04 450r without an hrc kit, only a slipon and jet;) i'd HATE too hear u lost this race cause u stalled or any other reason:grr: :macho let us know:D

lol ur gonna think suckzuki when they hit the tracks, they are gonna be the quad to beat....they have had 2 years to design this bad boy and to see what yamaha and honda did wrong and right, so they are gonna make theirs better....Suzuki has did their homework... i would love to get one, but i dont have the 7200 bucks to get one with...

trust me im on top of that lol i been practicing on occasions when i get time. i been ridin quads alot longer than him but this is both our first race quads so its sort of equal riders ...but theres no way im goin down to a "arctic crap" i dont care what i have to do im not losing to a imitiation suckzuki. it would be a different story if i had been talking all the smack but he stepped to me so im setting it with my rules i told him my way or no way.. rules state..i told him he could let his buddy ride it if he wanted due to the weight ratio( he is about 150lbs heavier than me) but it will be on pavement with 3 races best 2 out of 3 for 50 bucks. or he can race me and if i beat him he can race a friend of mine on his 400ex (440kit ported polished etc..) that he believes is a stock 400ex. if he beats him he gets 50 from both of us. kind of a double or nothing 2 way switch. i dont think he will turn it down.

thought i would add that the 440 stays with my 450r all the way through 4th gear then i start pulling on him. not to mention the guy with the 440 is a very experienced rider. so theres not going to be a problem there.

Pepto:cool: lol well its called exaggaration man its hard to exclaim it online. i didnt mean he was literally 150 lbs heavier than me hes roughly 75-100 lbs more than me. im 6'1 180lbs hes about 6'4 rough estimate of about 260-270 lbs hes a pretty hefty guy. definitly too big for this bike though. he looks like a monkey humpin a football.

My buddy used to weight 480 before his operation and he used to ride his Z no problem. He lost 200 lbs and is down to about 280 now and still rides it, although he has elkas setup for his weight now.
