Welding on 450r

hey i am going to make some custom foot pegs and am wondering if i could weld on the bike with out ruining some electrical? I now that on most bikes when doing so u disconect the battery will this be a problem on the 450r engine or electrical?

It will be fine I weld frame cracks on mine all the time with no problems.
