Alright really it isnt a problem because I can still ride with it but I just want to make sure that im not messing something up. I ordered new tusk plates and springs for my 400ex and installed everything im pretty sure as it should go, but my problem is when the motor is cold my clutch doesnt have any play at all and have a little slip but once it warms up ive got just the right clutch play as I need and they work perfect. Any suggestions?

Did u try adjusting the cable? If not at the lever then at the motor.

yea ive messed with the cable (on the perch and the motor) but it seems like once i get the play about right when its not running once it warms up its way too loose.

when u were putting in the plates did u put the last one in the other notch? i am not sure if this would do that but i figured out that the last one there is a notch that it has to go in.

Yep the last fiber is in the opposite notch of the rest. Any more suggestions? Thanks to everyone who has posted.

What type and weight oil are you using?

Penzoil 10w-40. I didnt see anything about friction reducers and thought it looked alright but I guess that could be the problem.

the hotter the engine the more clutch play u will get.

yea i know it will a little but i never thought it would go from almost slipping to about 1/2 in play

my 400ex never did that mutch but now the past month mine started doing that to. your cable ajuster could be twisting in as u drive making your clutch get more play.
