ok, i put a 165 main jet and a 45 pilot jet in today just for a place to start. i am getting fuel and spark but it won't start. seems to be flooding when trying. what about the needle after switching to larger main. should it be moved? possibly letting too much fuel in to start. i appreciate any help.

Is it a new plug?

Try hooking it up to the battery charger for a boost....more comression=harder start.....

alright i finally got things going. i was leaking oil with the new valve cover gasket so i took it out. i used a gasket maker by permatex. when i did, the valves had been set the first time, making them too tight without the gasket. adjusted the valves correct and it runs great. thanks everyone for the input. goes to show, check and double check. there is always some simple solution.
