It depends on what they are for and what brand you are buying.
Scoops are not a "cure all" but will help cool things down when moving if they are built with function in mind. The factory 450r scoops don't do much in my opinion. Some 400ex scoops actually direct air towards the engine & oil cooler. Depends on what you buy. I can't tell you that they drop your temperature five degrees, but more air going to your oil cooler will help...how can it not?? Any bit helps when you start modding things up.

i had them on my 425 and they did help with the over heating a bit. i still couldnt go as long as a 400 but i was able to stretch 10-15 more mins because of them.

the air scoops arent like buyen an extra oil cooler....but how do you think a 400 or other air cool machines get air....they need as much as much cooling as possible....they have no other way of getten cooler...more air the better...and for how little they cost......they cant hurt..
