a lot if it is going to depend on the riders. the 426ex should be comparable but whoever is riding the 310 will have to wait up a bit. Especially in the desert. I have a Ct 330 kit on my bike and ride with a stock 400ex its top speed is slower than cruising for me.

If the 310 is set up and tuned right it should walk all over the 426 and 450s. In the dunes I would go with the 310. Its power and handling will be superior to the 426 in the dunes.

my buddies had 416 ex's in the dunes and they were dogs.
a 265 could spank a 426

In the desert, it might be comparable. Not equal, but the 426 should be able to hang. But in the dunes, the 310 will run circles around a 426. There's just something about sand that allows 2-strokes to thrive.

man, you have to have some serious, and i mean serious work done to a 400ex to get it to even hang with a 310... seriously... i can say i have never gotten beat by any of the 400s... ive had some z400s with some serious work that could hang, but never any 400exs...

I have a 1988 TRX250R, One over the stock piston, with an esr milled head, and I break off all the new Honda and Yamaha 450's, You can't be serious and compare a 426ex on the same level as a 250R. My opinon if a 250r is running tits and you are a light rider, it is still the best bike on the market.
