Its a shame they had to kill it. It would have been better to catch it, take some pics and release it.

That's one ugly looking thing... but like someone else said , it's too bad they had to kill it .

The only thing I've ever seen that resembles it would be a gar pike .... which is basically a northern pike with that long nose . It was too ugly for me too keep ... I let it go !!!!

before i die i want to catch an alligator gar and a sturgeon...theres just something about a huge freshwater fish.

but yeah i agree with the comments about releasing that. If you're not going to eat it, what is the point in killing it? Leave it for somebody else to catch and enjoy. That is exactly why i dont deer hunt anymore..

longest gar I've ever shot was 70 inches. I"ve been bowfishing for about 25 years. My grandfather was one of the founding fathers to bring it to KY and get it popular throughout the state. My uncle now runs a bowfishing company and website.

www.bowfishingstuff.com there's some pretty big fish on his site also.

On average at the bowfishing world championship it's nothing for several boats to bring in over 400 lbs of fish a day....:eek2:

So how do you catch one of those, do they swim near the top of the water and you can see them to shoot them with the bow???

So are those things Carnivores or herbivores (sp)? Have they ever bit a human that was in the water with them? I would hate being around those things without something to take it out. But thats a pretty sweet fish.
